Barakatullah Electro Dynamics Limited (BEDL) company is a local and a group of Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) entrepreneur with the foreign partner STEE Co. Ltd. come from Thailand as a private sector power generating company developed by a group of NRB investors.

Barakatullah Electro Dynamics Limited (BEDL) company was incorporated in Bangladesh on 26th June 2007 as a Private Limited Company. BEDL on 25th September 2008 the Company was converted to a public limited company under the Company Act 1994. This company took part in the tendering process initiated by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and won the bid for implementing, generating, and supplying electricity from a 51 MW power plant at Fenchugong, Sylhet for a period of 15 years. BEDL signed an agreement for supply of electricity on rental basis with BPDB on 28th April 2008. For project financing the company appointed Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) as a lead arranger to arrange a syndicated loan for the project. Accordingly a syndication loan facility for BDT 1250 million has been arranged from six financial institutes.
